As Saskatchewan NDP Leader, Carla Beck has been clear: she does not support the consumer carbon tax. In fact, Scott Moe thanked her for voting against the tax on his own social media.
But Scott Moe isn’t allergic to every carbon tax. In November 2022, he announced an agreement with Justin Trudeau to impose an industrial carbon tax. And in April 2024, Moe admitted he had his own industrial carbon tax – the OBPS. “It is a carbon tax,” he said. It is expected to bring in $350M of revenue in 2024/25.
